Research and development (R&D) trends of Phan Vu Group in the next 5 years based on technology platform 4.0 and artificial intelligence. In the past 10 years, new technology has increased productivity by 4 times, while human resources have only doubled across the group. Thanh Nien Newspaper has an interview with Mr. Phan Khac Long, Chairman of the Board of Directors Phan Vu Group, about the breakthrough of Phan Vu.
Phan Vu Group is present in the ranking of the Top 10 most reputation enterprises in Vietnam in 2020, according to the published results of the Vietnam Assessment Report (Vietnam Report). What are the key factors that have helped Phan Vu achieve this honor?
Phan Vu is among the Top 10 best building materials companies in Vietnam, a process from its inception in 1996 up to now. When building the first factory, we defined and pursued the building materials segment, taking the foundation pile product as the core. In 1997, Phan Vu launched the first prefabricated centrifugal concrete pile in Vietnam. Up to now, it is still leading in the volume of centrifugal concrete piles in Vietnam and partly exported. Currently, the centrifugal concrete pile has replaced more than 80% of the traditional square pile. The key element of that success comes from the dedication of nearly 25 years of staff and the important strategic cooperation with Japan Pile Group (Japan).
Could you please share more about this important milestone that has contributed to the development of Phan Vu in particular and the construction sector in general in Vietnam?
In 2010, Phan Vu became a strategic partner with Japan Pile, a partner in the same industry and a leader in the foundation pile market in Japan. I must emphasize that partners in the same industry are extremely important, because they have also gone through the same difficulties, so they understand what we encounter. Japan Pile supported Phan Vu very promptly at times of crisis, corporate restructuring, financial balance and risk provisioning.
Phan Vu has made a breakthrough when receiving the transfer of new technology from Japan Pile. Typically, the technology of pre-boring method, in the past, when a bored pile construction device could be constructed 2 pilesper day, while the new technology reached 6 piles per day. The productivity increased by 3 times, improved quality, and reduced exam time work and lower costs.
Since 2014, Phan Vu corperated with Japan Pile, we have invested in a series of factories with outstanding capacity and quality in Long An, Dong Nai, Hai Duong ... In 2017, we continued to invest in an new factory. prefabricated assembled concrete components in Long An. And then April 2020, Phan Vu gave large size composite concrete components to Long Son Petrochemical Plant (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), which resonated in the Vietnamese market.
In 2018, Phan Vu acquired the entire pile production chain of Fecon Group, including FCM Ha Nam and FCM Nghi Son. After 10 years of cooperation with Japan Pile, we have expanded our factory system to 10 and increased productivity by 4 times, while our staff has only doubled across the group, from 1,000 to 2,000 people.
In 2020, heavily affected by the Covid-19, what solutions and policies does Phan Vu have for production and business activities?
Referring to this issue, once again I have to thank my Japanese Partner - Japan Pile. The partner has helped Phan Vu complete a better business strategy, even though we have built it in 2008. In our business strategy from 2010 up to now, we always have a dedicated chapter on risks. What to do if a crisis occurs. Therefore, when the Covid-19 translation occurred, Phan Vu took the initiative to come up with suitable solutions according to the strategy's guidelines. In addition, I thank the Government and Ho Chi Minh City for their very specific and timely guidance when the sudden translation of Covid-19 occurred. We just need to fully comply with the instructions and adjust flexibly to suit the new situation, ensuring the safety of our employees and not disrupting production and business activities.
Can you share about the capture of modern technologies and techniques to be able to perform large-scale projects, high-tech, especially the application of technology 4.0, artificial intelligence (AI)?
Phan Vu is interested in this issue and has put into business strategies such as applying QR codes by product, ERP management system since 2016 and developing application software, bringing 4.0 technology into project management. ... I think this is a must, although it is really difficult to implement.
Research and development (R&D) trends in the next 5 years must be based on technology platform 4.0 and AI. The first is the application in research and development of new building materials, through the help of large databases. Second, research and develop new technology equipment, upgrade the device's intelligence. Third, upgrade the management system to level 4.0, intelligent management and AI application.
What has Phan Vu been, is and will be doing towards the goal of sustainable development?
Phan Vu's goal is to be environmentally friendly from production to construction. Specifically, we have successfully improved the traditional centrifugal technology into the non-sludge technology and no emissions to the environment. And the use of renewable energy in production by installing solar panels in the roof at factories...
Sustainability goals are set through applications that consume less materials and save energy. Previously, the concrete strength was about 300 kg / cm², now our products reach 1,000 kg / cm², increasing the strength 3 times, which means saving materials at least 3 times. In addition, we take advantage of waste materials to cycle, recycle and minimize emissions into the environment.

Phan Vũ nằm trong Top 10 công ty vật liệu xây dựng tốt nhất VN là sự phấn đấu của cả một quá trình từ khi thành lập vào năm 1996 đến nay. Khi xây dựng nhà máy đầu tiên, chúng tôi xác định và đeo đuổi mảng vật liệu xây dựng, lấy sản phẩm cọc nền móng là cốt lõi. Năm 1997, Phan Vũ cho ra đời sản phẩm cọc bê tông ly tâm đúc sẵn lần đầu tiên tại VN, đến nay vẫn đang dẫn đầu về sản lượng cọc bê tông ly tâm tại VN và xuất khẩu một phần. Hiện nay, cọc bê tông ly tâm đã thay thế hơn 80% cọc vuông truyền thống. Yếu tố then chốt của sự thành công đó đến từ sự tận tụy của đội ngũ cán bộ nhân viên gần 25 năm gắn bó và sự hợp tác chiến lược quan trọng với Tập đoàn Japan Pile (Nhật Bản).
Xin ông chia sẻ thêm về cột mốc hợp tác quan trọng này đã góp phần cho sự phát triển của Phan Vũ nói riêng và lĩnh vực xây dựng nói chung tại VN?
Năm 2010, Phan Vũ trở thành đối tác chiến lược với Japan Pile, một đối tác cùng ngành nghề đứng đầu ở thị trường cọc nền móng tại Nhật Bản. Tôi phải nhấn mạnh đối tác cùng ngành nghề là vô cùng quan trọng, bởi họ cũng đã từng trải qua những khó khăn tương tự nên thấu hiểu những gì mà chúng tôi gặp phải. Japan Pile đã hỗ trợ Phan Vũ rất kịp thời tại thời điểm khủng hoảng, tái cấu trúc tập đoàn, cân đối tài chính và trích lập dự phòng rủi ro.
Phan Vũ đã tạo ra bước đột phá khi nhận chuyển giao công nghệ mới từ Japan Pile. Ðiển hình là công nghệ cọc khoan hạ, trước đây 1 thiết bị thi công cọc khoan nhồi được 2 tim/ngày thì công nghệ mới đạt đến 6 tim/ngày, năng suất tăng gấp 3, nâng cao chất lượng, giảm thời gian thi công và hạ giá thành.
Từ 2014, cùng với Japan Pile, chúng tôi đầu tư hàng loạt nhà máy có công suất và chất lượng vượt trội tại Long An, Ðồng Nai, Hải Dương... Năm 2017, chúng tôi tiếp tục đầu tư thêm 1 nhà máy cấu kiện bê tông đúc sẵn lắp ghép tại Long An. Vào tháng 4.2020, Phan Vũ đã đưa sản phẩm cấu kiện bê tông ghép kích thước lớn cho Nhà máy hóa dầu Long Sơn (Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu) đã gây được tiếng vang trên thị trường VN.
Trong năm 2018, Phan Vũ đã mua lại toàn bộ chuỗi sản xuất cọc của Tập đoàn Fecon, gồm FCM Hà Nam và FCM Nghi Sơn. Sau 10 năm hợp tác với Japan Pile, chúng tôi đã mở rộng hệ thống nhà máy lên con số 10 và tăng năng suất lên gấp 4 lần, trong khi nhân sự chỉ tăng gấp 2 trên toàn tập đoàn, từ 1.000 lên 2.000 người.
Năm 2020, ảnh hưởng nặng nề của đại dịch Covid-19, Phan Vũ đã có những giải pháp, chính sách gì cho hoạt động sản xuất kinh doanh?
Nói đến vấn đề này, một lần nữa tôi phải cảm ơn đối tác Nhật Bản. Ðối tác đã giúp Phan Vũ hoàn thiện chiến lược kinh doanh tốt hơn, dù chúng tôi đã xây dựng nó từ năm 2008. Trong chiến lược kinh doanh từ 2010 đến nay, chúng tôi luôn dành riêng một chương nêu về các rủi ro, phải làm gì nếu có khủng hoảng xảy ra. Do đó, khi dịch Covid-19 xảy đến, Phan Vũ đã chủ động đưa ra các giải pháp phù hợp theo các hướng dẫn của chiến lược. Ngoài ra, tôi cảm ơn Chính phủ và TP.HCM đã có những chỉ dẫn rất cụ thể, kịp thời khi dịch Covid-19 bất ngờ xảy ra. Chúng tôi chỉ việc tuân thủ đầy đủ các chỉ dẫn và điều chỉnh linh hoạt để phù hợp với tình hình mới, vừa đảm bảo an toàn cho cán bộ nhân viên vừa không làm gián đoạn hoạt động sản xuất kinh doanh.
Ông có thể chia sẻ về việc nắm bắt công nghệ, kỹ thuật hiện đại để có thể thực hiện công trình quy mô lớn, kỹ thuật cao, nhất là ứng dụng công nghệ 4.0, trí tuệ nhân tạo (AI)?
Phan Vũ quan tâm đến vấn đề này và đã đưa vào chiến lược kinh doanh như áp dụng mã QR theo sản phẩm, hệ thống quản lý ERP từ 2016 và phát triển các phần mềm ứng dụng, đưa công nghệ 4.0 vào quản lý dự án... Tôi cho rằng đây là việc bắt buộc phải làm, dù thật sự rất khó khăn khi triển khai.
Xu thế nghiên cứu và phát triển (R&D) trong 5 năm tới là phải dựa trên nền tảng công nghệ 4.0 và AI. Ðầu tiên là ứng dụng trong nghiên cứu phát triển vật liệu xây dựng mới, thông qua sự giúp ích của cơ sở dữ liệu lớn. Thứ hai, nghiên cứu phát triển thiết bị công nghệ mới, nâng cấp độ thông minh của thiết bị. Thứ ba, nâng cấp hệ thống quản lý lên trình độ 4.0, quản lý thông minh và ứng dụng AI.
Phan Vũ đã, đang và sẽ làm gì để hướng đến mục tiêu phát triển bền vững?
Mục tiêu của Phan Vũ là thân thiện môi trường từ sản xuất đến thi công. Cụ thể, chúng tôi đã cải tiến thành công công nghệ quay ly tâm truyền thống thành công nghệ không vữa thừa, không phát thải ra môi trường. Hay việc sử dụng năng lượng tái tạo vào sản xuất bằng cách lắp các tấm pin năng lượng mặt trời áp mái tại các nhà máy, hay chuyển từ lò đốt bằng dầu sang đốt trấu, vừa tiết kiệm vừa thân thiện môi trường.
Mục tiêu phát triển bền vững được xác lập thông qua các ứng dụng ít tiêu tốn nguyên vật liệu và tiết kiệm năng lượng hơn. Trước đây, cường độ bê tông khoảng 300 kg/cm², hiện nay sản phẩm của chúng tôi đạt 1.000 kg/cm², tăng cường độ gấp 3 lần, tức là tiết kiệm được nguyên vật liệu ít nhất 3 lần. Ngoài ra, chúng tôi tận dụng nguyên vật liệu phế thải để quay vòng, tái chế và hạn chế tối đa phát thải ra môi trường.
